The African Assimilation Center exist to assist African Refugees in continuing their
language acquisition skills and other services after the expiration of formal training
classes and services offered through the traditional resettlement agencies. Our programs
are post resettlement support, not to overlap the existing services.

Chinese Culture Group of Greater Grand Rapids

The Asian Center
The Asian Center was established in 1994 in order to respond to the needs of culturally
sensitive human services among the Asian Americans in West Michigan, as well as in
the United States. The Asian Center is designed to be the head office while The Asian
Center of West Michigan has been established as a local chapter responding to local
needs. Grants have been received both from local and state agencies for its operation.

The primary mission of the African and African Diaspora Studies (AADS) Minor at Calvin

Leaven Center
The Leaven Center is a retreat and study center committed to nurturing the relationship
between spirituality and social justice. We offer education, resources, and hospitality
for all who seek to be leavening agents for change, resisting oppression and engendering
